On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I would like to welcome you to the 2007 IEEE International Conference on Electron Devices and Solid-State Circuits (EDSSC), to be held in Tainan , Taiwan on Dec. 20-22, 2007. As a premier conference in Asia , the EDSSC brings together researchers and leading experts from all over the world to meet and present their most recent research outcomes. The conference has traditionally been held in Hong Kong for many years, and this the first time it is organized in Taiwan . The new venue will certainly provide an opportunity for the participants to enjoy both technical excellence and cultural exultation.

The technologies of electron devices and solid-state circuits continue to evolve rapidly and play an important role in the economic development in the 21st century. The conference will provide extensive opportunities for comprehensive technical information exchange as well as a stimulating environment for mutual communication and experience sharing among the participants. The technical program will comprise a plenary session with several outstanding keynote speeches as well as more than 20 invited talks. In addition, more than 150 technical papers are also anticipated to be presented during the 3-day event.

Finally, we warmly invite you to participate in this informative meeting and look forward to seeing you in the exciting and charming city of Tainan, Taiwan.
